Baseball Recap: Palmyra Takes a Loss

After flying high against Burlington City on Monday, Palmyra came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 15-9 to the Pemberton Hornets on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Ian Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Marques Washington, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Pemberton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Palmyra will venture away from home to challenge Willingboro at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Pemberton, they will challenge Medford Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
