Basketball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Horizon Hawks

The Timber Creek Wolves will face off against the Horizon Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Timber Creek earned a 55-45 victory over Bishop Moore. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Hornets are ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Timber Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Serene Exalant, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Exalant's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Allen, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Horizon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 60-54 to Oak Ridge. The Hawks have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Timber Creek pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Timber Creek strolled past Horizon in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 64-46. Does Timber Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Horizon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
