Softball Recap: Harrison Hornets vs. Farwell Eagles
Harrison extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They lost 16-0 to the Farwell Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Farwell, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.
For Farwell's part, Lindsay Esterline made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Esterline has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Karleigh Ames was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Chloe Miller also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
While Harrison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
