Basketball Recap: South Florence's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, South Florence's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Collegiate Titans. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Titans are ranked seventh).

Despite the defeat, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harmony Bostick posted 17 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amari Gamble, who put up four points and 11 rebounds.

South Florence's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Trinity Collegiate, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

South Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-33 defeat against North Myrtle Beach on the 30th. As for Trinity Collegiate, they will take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 7th.
