Softball Game Preview: Mt. Ararat Eagles vs. Cape Elizabeth Capers

Mt. Ararat is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Cape Elizabeth a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Mt. Ararat Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cape Elizabeth Capers at 4:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Ararat is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Oxford Hills, who was ranked fifth at the time (Mt. Ararat was ranked 14th). The Eagles came up short against the Vikings on Friday, falling 11-1.

Leavitt hit Cape Elizabeth with a four-run first inning last Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Capers lost 12-2 to the Hornets.

Cape Elizabeth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie McIntyre, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mt. Ararat's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cape Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
