Recap: Big Bear vs. Banning
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's just how it played out between Big Bear and Banning. Big Bear was able to grind out a solid victory over Banning, winning 33 - 19. The triumph was an especially important one as it keeps Big Bear in the hunt for the championship.
Big Bear's defense put the team in a good position heading into the break, holding Banning to a measly six points. That gave them a 18 - 6 advantage at the half. Big Bear only pulled further ahead in the second half, where it scored 15 points compared to Banning's 13.
One of the most exciting plays for Big Bear came from senior Chase Dowty, who broke away for a 92-yard TD rush in the second quarter.
Big Bear remains undefeated at home and rose to 10-1. The defeat dropped Banning's record to 6-5.
The Big Bear squad is out to improve its record as its season nears the end. Big Bear is set to face off against TBA in a playoff match this Friday at 7:30 PM. Even though it won this last game, Big Bear has scored fewer and fewer points in its past three matches, so TBA might be meeting Big Bear at a good time.
