Football Recap: Fossil Ridge Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Fossil Ridge lost against Ryan back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers were dealt a 43-14 loss at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Raiders are ranked 33rd).

Despite the defeat, Fossil Ridge had strong showings from Malaki Lockhart, who threw for 199 yards and two TDs, and Benjamin Riley, who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Riley really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Tre'Vaughn Reynolds was nothing short of spectacular for Ryan: he rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Those 209 rushing yards gave Reynolds a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quin Henigan, who threw for 282 yards and one TD.

Fossil Ridge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Ryan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Fossil Ridge and Ryan will both be playing Granbury the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Raiders will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
