Softball Preview: Littlefield Wildcats vs. Muleshoe Mules        
        
		
            
 Littlefield is 9-1 against Muleshoe since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Saturday. The Littlefield Wildcats will head out on the road to  face off against  the Muleshoe Mules at 12:00  p.m. Given that  the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  match.
 Littlefield pushed their score all the way to 13 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell  16-13 to Brownfield. Littlefield has not had much luck with Brownfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
  Alyssa Torres and  Brianna Aleman stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Torres  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Aleman  went 5-for-5 with a  home run, two  RBI,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Brinley Acevedo, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Littlefield  lost a few balls and  finished the game with four  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile,  the matchup between Muleshoe and Lamesa  on Tuesday hardly resembled the  3-0 effort from their previous meeting. Muleshoe's  rough  20-10 loss to Lamesa  might stick with them for a while. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
  Madison Ortega made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bianca Cereceres, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Littlefield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Muleshoe, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6-1.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Littlefield has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.1  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Muleshoe struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 6.4. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Littlefield beat Muleshoe 12-8  when the teams last played  on March 2nd. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  Muleshoe's  Adalie Agundis, who   struck out 13 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and ten unearned) runs off   five  hits. Now that she's  got a second chance to win this matchup, will Littlefield still be able to contain  Agundis? There's only one way to find out.
