Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Knights vs. Thunderbird Titans

St. Mary lost to Thunderbird back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Mikey Nanez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Arturo Espino was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Thunderbird, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

St. Mary's will take on Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. Thunderbird does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
