Softball Recap: Floyd County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Floyd County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carroll County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Buffaloes blew past the Cavaliers 9-2 on Tuesday. The win was just business as usual for the Buffaloes, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Emma Biesterveld made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Gillispie, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kyra Vaughn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

Floyd County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Floyd County's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
