Basketball Recap: Maxwell Bears vs. Raton Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springer, Maxwell was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 win over the Raton Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since December 13, 2024.
Raton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lorenzo Anaya, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Anaya is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Elliot, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 20 points and three blocks.
