Soccer Recap: Lake Braddock Victorious

While Lake Braddock's win against Herndon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Hornets on Monday. Given Lake Braddock's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Herndon are ranked 265th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Braddock's win bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for Herndon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-10-3 record this season.

Lake Braddock will square off against Alexandria City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Herndon, they will face off against Washington-Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washington-Liberty will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Herndon surely won't give up without a fight.
