Flag Football Recap: Los Osos Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Los Osos's offense. The contest between the Grizzlies and the Etiwanda Eagles didn't end well, with the Grizzlies falling 19-0. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Eagles are ranked 46th).

SHELBY HONG went supernova For Etiwanda., throwing for 225 yards and a pair of TDs on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 35 yards. Those 225 passing yards gave HONG a new career-high. NAHDEEN PURVIUS-ROMERO also helped out with an impressive 110 receiving yards.

Los Osos has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season. As for Etiwanda, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Los Osos didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-6 win against Chino Hills on the 16th. As for Etiwanda, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-0 victory against St. Lucy's on the 16th.
