Softball Recap: Carlmont Comes Up Short

Carlmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They fell 12-9 to the King's Academy Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scots of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Carlmont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Maher, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Grace Stiefel also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Carlmont's loss dropped their record down to 3-22-1. As for King's Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.

While Carlmont had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
