Softball Recap: Fort Dorchester Has No Trouble Against Stall

While Fort Dorchester put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Stall. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lily Brinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brinson was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Nadia Lorenzano was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ashton Giet, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Fort Dorchester hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Fort Dorchester's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Stall, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Fort Dorchester will host Berkeley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.5, the Stags 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Stall, they will head out on the road to take on St. John's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
