Soccer Game Preview: American Fork vs. Skyridge

The American Fork Cavemen will face off against the Skyridge Falcons at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday. American Fork's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

American Fork is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pleasant Grove 3-2. American Fork better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Preston Osborne, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Skyridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They never let Weber get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Skyridge were the better team in the second half.

Skyridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven matchups. As for American Fork, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

American Fork couldn't quite get it done against Skyridge when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Cavemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
