Basketball Recap: Manraj Sarai's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Valley over Del Campo

River Valley suffered their closest defeat since December 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Del Campo Cougars by a score of 62-59. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Manraj Sarai, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. That's the most points Sarai has posted since back in December of 2024. Jackson McPeak was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Cole Dugan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Del Campo, going 11-for-16 en route to 27 points along with seven boards and five assists. Dugan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Wright, who earned 13 points.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Del Campo, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-19.

River Valley has already played their next contest, a 64-55 defeat against Placer on the 14th. As for Del Campo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-55 loss against Twelve Bridges on the 14th.
