Softball Preview: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Hebron Hawks

The Morgan Township Cherokees will square off against the Hebron Hawks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Morgan Township made easy work of Tri-Township and carried off an 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cherokees, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hebron narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Kouts 7-6. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs & Fillies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Toczek made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). Toczek was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Macey Siminski was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bailey Dilbeck, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
