Basketball Game Preview: Hidden Valley Titans vs. Salem Spartans

Hidden Valley hasn't had much luck against Salem recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Both will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Hidden Valley is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 58-48 to Pulaski County.

Meanwhile, Salem waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed by the Bruins to the tune of 65-29. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Bruins are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Salem pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Hidden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Things could have been worse for Hidden Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-32 loss to Salem in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Hidden Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
