Softball Recap: Cary-Grove Trojans vs. Wauconda Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McHenry, Cary-Grove was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wauconda Bulldogs by a score of 5-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Paityn Ahlquist was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
