Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Yume Duncan and Mia Lockyer Lead New Canaan to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenwich, New Canaan was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wilton Warriors by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

New Canaan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-8, 25-17, 25-9.

New Canaan was led to victory by Mia Lockyer and Yume Duncan. Lockyer had ten digs and two aces, while Duncan had 36 assists and three aces. Duncan is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Anna Fiorito also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

New Canaan's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Wilton, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. New Canaan will challenge rival Stamford at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Wilton is set to take on their familiar foe Bridgeport Central at 5:45 p.m. on the 8th.
