Basketball Preview: Lawrence Central Bears vs. Liberty Christian Lions
Lawrence Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Liberty Christian Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lawrence Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 436 points over their last seven games.
Lawrence Central posted their closest victory since November 21, 2023 on Saturday. They skirted past Anderson 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Liberty Christian pushed their score all the way to 61 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 78-61 fall against Guerin Catholic. While losing is never fun, Liberty Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 27th).
Lawrence Central's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Liberty Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
