Softball Recap: Geneseo Maple Leafs vs. Orion Chargers
Geneseo won the last time they faced Orion and things went their way on Saturday too. Geneseo walked away with a 5-1 win over Orion. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Maple Leafs.

Kendyl Wassenhove made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Lillian Brown was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Jaylee Brudos was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Geneseo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory got Geneseo back to even at 4-4. As for Orion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneseo will welcome Alleman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Geneseo's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Orion, they will challenge Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
