Guntersville had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it 12. They lost 15-0 to Fort Payne. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Fort Payne this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in March.

As for Fort Payne, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-15. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

For Fort Payne's part, Olivia Lee was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lee has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Fort Payne got a massive performance out of Jireh Wagner, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Wagner a new career-high. Natalie Meadows was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Guntersville is taking a road trip to take on Scottsboro at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Payne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
