Softball Game Preview: Selma Bears vs. Sanger West Hornets

The Selma Bears will head out to square off against the Sanger West Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Selma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Selma is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Shafter on Saturday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Selma saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriela Pena, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Sanger West didn't have quite enough to beat Tulare Union on Saturday and fell 5-3.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Sanger West, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8-2.
