Football Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Knights vs. South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies
After flying high against Meridian last Saturday, Metro-East Lutheran came back down to earth. The Knights took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville Ponies on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Ponies: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Metro-East Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Abe Oberhauser, who rushed for 258 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes. Oberhauser really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run. 86 of Oberhauser's passing yards were hauled in by Isaak Broekemeier, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
George Bailey produced another solid performance rushing for 324 yards and seven scores while picking up 12.5 yards per carry for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Metro-East Lutheran fell to 5-1. As for South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
