Recap: Yates Center Wildcats vs. Cherryvale Chargers
This season hasn't been kind to the Yates Center Wildcats, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They fell 48-41 to Cherryvale on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yates Center in their matchups with Cherryvale: they've now lost five in a row.
Cherryvale found their leader in underclassman Leuie Umbarger, who scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Umbarger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Landon Fox, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Yates Center's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Cherryvale, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Yates Center will head out on the road to square off against Chetopa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chetopa is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Cherryvale, Cherryvale and Neodesha will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
