Softball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

If Mountain View was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Summit on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 18-7 to Caldera on Friday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with Caldera recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Keilah McCarthy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Kennedy, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mountain View's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Caldera, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will square off against Ridgeview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caldera, they will welcome Redmond at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
