Ladarrion Newell Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Starting off the list is Gary West Side's Ladarrion Newell, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Newell made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

This season, Newell has averaged 6.5 total tackles per game.

Big Game from Ortiz As Wheeler Won 49-6

Jayden Ortiz's big game helped extend Wheeler's winning streak to six on Friday. Nobody could stop Ortiz as he rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

If history really does repeat itself, Ortiz might just drop another big game when he faces off against Griffith on Friday. When Ortiz last faced the Panthers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry.

A Season-Best Performance from Kamari Loggins Leads Gary West Side over Hammond Bishop Noll

On Friday, Gary West Side got the W thanks in part to Kamari Loggins playing the best football he has all season. Loggins rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making four total tackles.

For the year, Loggins has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 22 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Caleb Klimczak Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Wheeler got the W thanks in part to Caleb Klimczak playing the best football he has all season. Klimczak threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

This season, Klimczak has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 214.5 passing yards per game.

Whiting Gets a Boost from White in 49-6 Defeat

Rounding off our Top Five is Austin White of Whiting. White rushed for 130 yards, and also threw for 85 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 130 rushing yards.

Whiting is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. White and Whiting will be playing at home against LaVille at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
