Baseball Game Preview: Naperville North Huskies vs. Neuqua Valley Wildcats

For the second straight game, Naperville North will face off against Neuqua Valley. The Huskies will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Naperville North's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Neuqua Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Naperville North came out on top against Neuqua Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Huskies walked away with a 6-2 win over the Wildcats.

Yash Desai spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Naperville North is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 10-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Max Steele and Matt Cantrell did most of the damage at the plate: Steele went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Cantrell went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Steele a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Bava, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The victory got Naperville North back to even at 13-13. As for Neuqua Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13-1.
