The PikeView Panthers will venture away from home to  take on the Nicholas County Grizzlies  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with nine  defeats in a row, PikeView  turned things around against Bluefield  on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Beavers. The Panthers not only won  on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 2nd (when they won  11-1).

 Trenton Tolliver made a big impact no matter where he played. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Tolliver was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  triple. Those  two  doubles gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news, PikeView let  Landon Wyatt and  Eli Naylor run wild. Wyatt  went 2-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI, while  Naylor  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Naylor has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eli Hilling, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  RBI and one  run.
 PikeView  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are 4-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  game, Nicholas County made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Midland Trail  on Wednesday. The Grizzlies blew past the Patriots 25-4. The Grizzlies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Caleb Jarvis and  Lucas Milam did most of the damage at the plate:  Jarvis  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base, while  Milam  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with four  runs. Nicholas County is undefeated when  Milam posts two or  more  runs, but 3-9 otherwise.  Coleton Hellems was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 PikeView's record is now 11-9. As for Nicholas County, their record now sits at an identical 11-9.
 Everything went PikeView's way against Nicholas County in their previous matchup  back in March, as PikeView made off with  a  10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
