Volleyball Recap: Weeping Water Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nebraska Lutheran, Weeping Water was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Southern Raiders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since October 1, 2024.

Weeping Water wouldn't go down easily and took Southern into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 17-25, 23-25, 25-13, 16-14.

Weeping Water found their leader in freshman Ella Huskey, who had 14 digs and one block. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Huskey. Another player making a difference was Jaelis Brito- Diaz, who had 25 digs and two assists.

Weeping Water's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Southern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Weeping Water wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Brownell Talbot on the 16th. As for Southern, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Pawnee City on the 13th.
