            Football Recap: Morgan Park Mustangs vs. King Jaguars        
        
		
        
        
            While Morgan Park put up plenty of  points on Saturday, the same  can't be said for King. The Mustangs claimed a resounding  42-0 victory over the Jaguars. Considering the Mustangs have won four contests by more than 29  points this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
Morgan Park got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Ronald Smith Jr. out in front who threw for 285 yards and three  TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. The Mustangs' leading receiver  Nasir Rankin was  Smith Jr.'s top target yet again, picking up 150 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 Morgan Park's defense stepped up as well, laying out  Jermaine Whitfield five times.  Immanuel Carter was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with seven.

The  victory (which was Morgan Park's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for King,  with the  defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Morgan Park will  face off against  rival Kenwood  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Mustangs 8, the Broncos 13.6) so any  points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, King is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Payton College Prep  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
