Baseball Recap: Lincoln Southeast's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lincoln Southeast's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Westview Wolverines 9-7.

Ryan Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Lincoln Southeast is undefeated when Johnson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and two stolen bases. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Kirk, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Kirk a new career-high. Another was Dylan Etherton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Lincoln Southeast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lincoln Southeast's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Westview, their record is now 12-8.

Coming up, Lincoln Southeast will face off against Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview has already played their next match (against Papillion-LaVista), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
