Softball Recap: Waukegan Comes Up Short

Waukegan lost against Wheeling back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs lost 23-3 to the Wildcats. The defeat leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

LeiLani Nieves made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those hits marked the first that she got this season.

Waukegan's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wheeling, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Waukegan will face off against Highland Park at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wheeling, they will take on Maine East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
