Spring Creek posted their closest victory since April 12, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Dayton Dust Devils. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-2 win on Saturday.

Ava Cauley made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cauley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MacKenzie Morfin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adalynne Dolfin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Spring Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Dayton and nudges their season record down to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Spring Creek will welcome Elko at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek will need to watch out since Elko has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Dayton, they will take on Chico in a tournament on Friday.
