Liberty had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They walked away with a 68-58 win over the Lutheran Cougars. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cougars are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty has already played their next game (against Fort Zumwalt West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lutheran will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hazelwood West at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th.
