Basketball Recap: Astronaut Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Astronaut can now relate to. They were outmatched by The Villages Charter Buffalo and fell 75-23. The game marked the War Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Leading The Villages Charter to victory were Adyn Corbin and Jomar Bernard. Corbin went 7-for-9 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Bernard went 6-for-10 to rack up 19 points. The dominant performance gave Bernard a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Herly Brutus, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Astronaut's loss dropped their record down to 6-22. As for The Villages Charter, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-5.

Astronaut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Villages Charter, they will square off against Discovery at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Discovery knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully The Villages Charter likes a good challenge.
