Basketball Recap: Kearns Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

West Jordan came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Kearns, but Kayden Stark wouldn't allow it. The Kearns Cougars took down the West Jordan Jaguars 61-45 on Friday thanks in part to Stark, who went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

West Jordan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ian Mcintyre, who shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, and Jacob Smith, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Mcintyre's third in a row with at least ten points.

Kearns' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for West Jordan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
