Volleyball Recap: Gertz-Ressler Takes a Loss

Gertz-Ressler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Animo Robinson Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pumas of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Gertz-Ressler took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Gertz-Ressler still got an impressive performance from Eric Franco, who had 18 digs. Franco is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Ventura, who had ten digs.

Gertz-Ressler's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Animo Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

While Gertz-Ressler had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
