Volleyball Recap: Caston Takes a Loss

Caston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays. If the Comets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bluejays when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Caston wouldn't go down easily and took North Judson-San Pierre into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-8, 21-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Grace Colvin paced Caston's offense, picking up ten kills. Colvin got some help from Madisyn Douglass and her 13 assists. Douglass was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Caston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for North Judson-San Pierre, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.

Coming up, Caston will face off against LaVille at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Knox on the 1st.
