Basketball Recap: Harker Heights Comes Up Short

Harker Heights has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 85-81 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shoemaker Wolves. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Harker Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Shoemaker, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Harker Heights and Shoemaker should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Knights (ranked 103rd) will meet Bryan (ranked 216th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shoemaker will challenge Killeen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (205 vs. 560).
