Volleyball Recap: Pine Island Panthers vs. Cannon Falls Bombers

Pine Island took Cannon Falls into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-9, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11.
Cannon Falls found their leader in underclassman Katie Tipton, who had 34 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Tipton has posted since back in August. Libby Sampson was another key player, getting 28 digs and four aces.
Pine Island's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Cannon Falls, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Island will head out to face off against Chatfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Chatfield is on a five-game streak of home wins, Pine Island a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Cannon Falls, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 7:15 p.m.
