Soccer Game Preview: Woodlawn-B.R. vs. Zachary

The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Zachary Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Woodlawn-B.R. challenged Dunham on Tuesday. Woodlawn-B.R. and Dunham finished up their contest with a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Panthers' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Zachary). Their defense stepped up to hand Central an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Broncos with their most commanding win of the season.

Their offense was hitting Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Ava Lewis led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

With that draw, Woodlawn-B.R.'s record moves to 3-7-1. As for Zachary, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-10-1 record.

Woodlawn-B.R. suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Zachary in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Woodlawn-B.R. avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
