Soccer Game Preview: Lakeview vs. Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic

The Lakeview Vikings will take on Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Lakeview's win against Aurora wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Lakeview.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Genesis Enriquez, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian 5-2. With Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic ahead 3-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Lakeview now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Lakeview beat Lutheran/Norfolk Catholic 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
