Basketball Game Preview: DeKalb Barons vs. Northridge Raiders

DeKalb hasn't had much luck against Northridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The DeKalb Barons are taking a road trip to take on the Northridge Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, DeKalb turned things around against Heritage on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 57-46.

Meanwhile, Northridge came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Falcons to the tune of 66-34. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd in Indiana, while the Falcons are ranked 223rd in Indiana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Northridge, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

DeKalb didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northridge when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for DeKalb since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
