Softball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton lost against Beechwood back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Greendevils came up short against the Tigers, falling 22-12. The Greendevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tayah Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Emily Hall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Beechwood, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Dayton will welcome Holy Cross at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Beechwood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
