Football Recap: Western International Comes Up Short

Western International fell victim to Mumford and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Mustangs 28-0. The Cowboys were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Western International and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Mumford, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Western International and Mumford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Cowboys (ranked 475th) will meet King (ranked third) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mumford will take on Cass Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (440 vs. 1).
