Volleyball Game Preview: Downingtown East Cougars vs. Lansdale Catholic Crusaders

The Downingtown East Cougars will face off against the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Thursday, Downingtown East got the win against Downingtown West by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

While Downingtown East won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Lansdale Catholic made easy work of Academy at Palumbo on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Crusaders have beaten the Griffin the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Griffin has come to flipping the script.

Lansdale Catholic never let Academy at Palumbo on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

Lansdale Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Downingtown East, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
