Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. King Lions

The Brandon Eagles will square off against the King Lions on Monday. Brandon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully King likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Brandon beat Middleton 64-57.

Brandon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Messiah McKinley led the charge by putting up 16 points. The contest was McKinley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Tyliest Montgomery was another key player, posting 15 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when King faced off against Middleton on Wednesday. King came out on top against Middleton by a score of 69-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Brandon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for King, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-20.

Brandon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against King in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win. Does Brandon have another victory up their sleeve, or will King turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
